HEADACHES AND CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Headaches are not uncommon! Many
Lynchburg headache sufferers attain headache relief with
Lynchburg chiropractic care. One in 5 new
chiropractic patients visit to a chiropractor’s office like
Palmer Chiropractic Center with a complaint of headache. Headache
patients account for a significant part
of the chiropractic practice, and that’s true for Palmer Chiropractic Center.
Chiropractors often diagnose and co-manage
headache patients
with other healthcare providers. (1) Spinal manipulation therapy (SMT) for
cervicogenic headache is written to be quite helpful.
For the most benefit, a new study reported that 18 SMT
visits in contrast to 1, 6, and 12 visits, is most
effective, reducing cervicogenic headache days by 50%.
Compared with slight massage, SMT also resulted in three more cervicogenic headache-free days a month. (2)

TIP OF THE MONTH: Vitamin D for Reduced Migraines
It’s been proposed
that the inflammation and a reduced immune system may play
a role in migraine headache. The role of nutrients – vitamin D, vitamin B12,
alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, magnesium, niacin, riboflavin, and riboflavin - in
the supportive care of migraines is reportedly therapeutic.
(3) A recent study writes that better
levels of serum Vitamin D (50 to less than 100 ng/mL) decreases
the odds of having a migraine headache by 80% to 83% versus levels below 20 ng/mL. (4) Lynchburg migraine
sufferers may want to consider improving their
Vitamin D status alongside their Lynchburg
chiropractic care plan.
