Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
Why Everyone Should Be Using PEMF from the High School Athlete to the Baby Boomer
PEMF can be used to treat specific conditions or as a general wellness device. Low intensity PEMF should be used on a daily basis just as you would take your vitamins or brush your teeth.
Studies have been performed using PEMF to prove it benefits on the human body as well as animals. Some of the reseach proven benefits are:
- Improved sleep and relaxation (16)
- Feeling more energy and focus (16)
- Reduced pain & stiffness with osteoarthritis (1)(17)(18)(19)
- Reduced presence of discomfort (1)(4)(12)(13)(16)
- Less frequent mental exhaustion (16)
- Reduced severity of physical exhaustion (16)
- Improved bone density in patients with osteoporosis / osteopenia (5)(6)
- Pain and inflammation relief (1)(3)(4)(12)(13)
- Faster recovery (3)(4)(11)(13)(14)
- Athletes reduced long term effects of joint injuries and faster return to play(3)
- Reduction of intervertebral disc inflammation and overall improvement in spinal degeneration condition including associated low back pain(4)
- Suggested benefits in cancer patients including inhibiting tumor growth, promoting cell death and reducing inflammation & pain((6)7)(8)(9)(10)
- Reduced swelling in benign prostatic hypertrophy (27.3% on average in the study)(2)
- Improved short and long term function in shoulder impingement(14)
- Less swelling and pain post knee replacement with less walking limitations 3 years post surgery(13)
- Reduced pain and swelling post-op & improved long term function (11)(13)
How PEMF May Work for Cancer
PEMF therapy shows promise for metastatic cancer patients by potentially inhibiting tumor growth, promoting cell death, and reducing inflammation and pain, and is considered safe to use alongside conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy. While research in humans is limited, preclinical studies suggest PEMF can disrupt cancer cell division, block new blood vessel formation, and reduce treatment side effects, making it a promising adjunctive therapy for managing cancer and improving patient outcomes. THESE FDA APPROVALS/CLEARANCES ARE SPECIFIC TO INDIVIDUAL DEVICES PRESCRIBED FOR OR INTENDED FOR THOSE SPECIFIC USES. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THOSE DEVICES ARE THE ONLY ONES TO HAVE THAT EFFECT ON THE BODY.
Types of PEMF Therapy
PEMF therapy devices come in various types, including full-body mats for comprehensive treatment, localized devices for targeting specific areas, and portable units for on-the-go use. Each type is designed to address different health needs, such as pain relief, improved circulation, enhanced healing, and general wellness.
PEMF devices are divided into 3 main categories, low intensity, mid-range intensity, and high intensity. The Mid-range and High intensity devices are typically only seen in use in a physician's office. High intensity devices create such strong magnetic pulses that the patient can feel them pass through their body. The low intensity devices are intended for daily use at home and usually can only be detected by PEMF detection device but have been shown to have beneficial health effects.
OUR CHOICE FOR DAILY USE PEMF
Dr. Palmer has chosen the Centropix Kloud PEMF mat to recommend to patients. He believes based on the science and published studies on PEMF, daily use of low intensity PEMF can be very beneficial for whole body wellness. The largest PEMF study has been published in: ICT for Intelligent Systems: Proceedings of ICTIS 2025. Springer Nature, January 2026 using the Centropix Kloud. Part of the study compared satisfaction of the Kloud to other similar devices. 73.1% of the 117 participants in this area of the study were more satisfied with the Kloud than other similar devices.(16)
Centropix Kloud advanced wave explained
Dr. Palmer has chosen the Centropix Kloud to recommend to his patients for daily wellness. The Kloud uses multiple wave forms superimposed as opposed to the older PEMF mat systems that use single saw tooth or square wave signals. The Kloud has 5 programs that come pre-programed in the mat itself. The mat can be used just about anywhere and has no wires to worry about while using. Another advantage is the ability to fold the mat and increase the intensity being delivered to an individual area of the body. With the blue tooth connected to your phone, you can also control the kloud program and signal intensity with ease. Additional programs are available for purchase to use with the app on your phone that make for an even more personal customized experience. The Kloud does not have any FDA clearance for specific treatments. The Centropix Kloud is registered with the FDA as a Class 1 device ensuring its safety and reliability for users. This limits the marketing and advertising of the device to only a "WELLNESS DEVICE".
